Chiang Kam Mission Trip-Day 1

Day 1

We met at 6.30am on the 30th all bugged by the morning blues~

Shao Yun is SUPER excited as it's the first time she and Ah Seng is taking a flight tgt.

doing a last check before we check in our luggage.

as compared to the other mission trips,

we really have much lesser boxes.

(in fact, we have more boxes when we came back from the mission trip)

william also send us his well wishes through meijing with an inspiring speech.

we understand that we would face with many challenges with Mr S' disturbing.

but we would never forget that with Mr J' tgt w us, everthing would jus turn out the right way.

after that, we decided to grab some Mc Donalds before we board the plane.

and you should have seen how our dear Gwen Gwen ate her hot cakes like wafer and kept them warm in the cover

and of course the MISSION TEAM!!

and with everyone that sent us off.

in 2hrs and 45mins we finally arrived at Chiang Mai,

welcomed by the Mission Team from Chiang Mai.

had a little pit stop at their church and finally a photo of all that are going to Chiang Kam for the Mission Trip.

we had a really comfortable trip, well at least for me.....

cos i was seating on the first class seats.

HAHAHAHA.

had a foodie break at the tom yam noodles, yong tao fu place before we travel another 4 hrs to Chiang Kam.

when we reached, another feast awaits us at yong yao & yong xiang's place~

and the playground outside is simply too tempting that we started to recall our childhood.

the food was simply YUMMY!! :DDDD

so the day ended with a trip to Tesco~

and so it marks the beginning of the Mission Trip.....

e Mission Team touched down today at around 3pm!~

and it really was one head good ah!! :DDDD

we combined with the youth from chiang mai this time round and it was really an extraordinary experience.

HAHA.

from tmr onwards,

we would revisit these 8 days in Chiang Kam.

While the mission trip is embarking on their trip to Chiangkam this coming tuesday, pls pray for their safety as Thailand is considered in the state of emergency now..Although the riot is at Bangkok but we still need God's protection against other spiritual attacks while we are doing His works at foreign land..

Those who want to send us off, it is this tuesday 30 March 650am at T2.

Still rmb last year we have LOADS of fun baking for the neighbors ard our church??
Well this year, we are gg to bake for fund raising!!! So calling all folks, young n old, pls report to 141 at 10am on 6th feb sat. We seriously need alot of manpower!! I reali mean alot. we have a dateline. we will need to complete 20 boxes of mini spring rolls n 20 boxes of honey cornflakes.
SO will appreciate if u guys can come T_T gam xia..so i can go Osaka for holiday without any worry =D

Updates about Liam

Many of you wondered how william is doing over at Cambodia..below are some pics of his activities there..

He had fruit feast with his buddies at night...

He had movie night on every Fri, thru movie(brought from spore, help from ah seng,xiaoyu and wenqinglaoshi) shared abt God's love and iduce God's teachings into them.

He also teaches english and chinese to those who specially requested..really hope that he does not cause more confusion. =( with his spelling deficiency i'm reali doubtful haha...

He trains the students physically every day morning by bringing them to jogging at 5am. but i heard initially only 1 or 2 wake up at 5am to join him in the jogging.

let's continue to pray for him. health, strength and faith =))

Austin Hill Part 1

Last Week we had a short trip to Msia for Church fellowship family camp.:)
The destination from Spore to Msia only take around 1-2hr can reach the Austin Hill but that day we set off we took around 3-4h then we reach our place.. Wow.. really took a long journey due to the TRAFFIC JAM... HAiz.. Overall we all been take care by God for our safty to there n back Spore. Thank the Lord. :)

Half way, 1 of our buses break down at half way thorugh our journey. The bus passagner is all the elderly and all very hungry already.. we reach the eating place almost 2.30pm. We feel sad for the elderly as they old already and still hungry heart pain for them. :) If can we rather youngest get hungry then them lor. HA..;)

Dragon Boat Outing 09

It was SBC very first time to organise dragon boat outing..surprisingly, there were 30 enthusiasts to join us for the day..God really blessd us with cool weather(no sun although it was 4-6pm by right the sun should be setting down)
Anyway, Lloyd decided to make himself reali cute so he can attract attention. heard that he managed to attract an unwanted attention/ gay attention=x

Livia was being conned to join us. which was good in the end for her. if not she will be filled with jealousy seeing us from here while we row out the boat enjoying ourselves..

we split the ppl into 3 teams. since i am the organiser, i will put the rumored ppl to be same team. *grin like ZQ n C..

and DX n PY. =D

we are to wear a vest in case we fell into water. and we are holding a paddle..was surprised it was so short.

er where is the dragon head and where is the drummer????

hai..that kind is for competiton. for beginners like us..we oni allow to experience this boat.

off we go~~~

it was miracle that my camera survived admist the water fight we had with one another from the other teams. *annoyed. im gg to claim from u guys if it's reali spoilt.

Hi, here are some pointers for tonight's prayer meeting.

Tonight we prayed for Pastors,

Pastor Lam
1. Currently in New Zealand, pray for good health and a safe journey back home.
2. Renewal by GOD's words and growth of spiritual health daily.
3. Work peacefully with other pastors, deacons and church committee, pleasing GOD in our church works.

Pastor Chi
1. GOD will lead and give her wisdom and knowledge when sharing sermons, doing counselling, and doing GOD ministry work.
2. GOD will continue to lead her in her daily QY and a good health through exercising.
3. Her family members health and salvation.

Pastor J
1. GOod health and continue to stay close to GOD serving the church,
2, Knowledge and wisdom when preparing for sermons, connecting with the congregation by using GOD's words.
3. Give good health to Pastor Shelen in her tight work schedule.

Other Prayer items
1. This sat JCU Ministry, please pray that we can get the green light soon from the point of contact to arrange to meet up with the students and bring them around Singapore.
2. Meijing grandma and granddad, from the previous post we know that Pastor J get to share the gospel when her granddad, hope GOD will water this seed of gospel in his heart. Pray for MJ mom too, hope she can really understand and maintain good r/s with MJ.
3. Praise the LORD, william grandma is alr a believer!! let's continue to keep his parents in prayer and hope they can receive the salvation!

A fruitful day for us...

For those who dunno...today me(mei jing) william , wenqing lao shi and xiao yu laoshi visited my grandpa in Johor.. God blessed us with good weather and a safe trip. thank you all those who have been praying for us. God listens to prayer. =)

I was very happy to see that my granpa was in a conscious condition when we visited him..he can understand what we are talking to him. Was very glad that Wen Qing laoshi is able to speak in hokkien thus can communicate with him more efficiently. Before my trip, I kept this from my mum that lao shis will be paying ah gong a visit., who is a strong buddhist/taoist, she 'ham ba la' everything also mix together n worship. and i'm glad that there's this talkative aunt of mine is not around. if not ended up she talked n lao shis had to listen. to her gossip, nagging, grumbling n whining. sounds bad huh. i experienced it once when me n liam went back to visit ah ma and ended up have to listen to her verbal diarheoa which is not pleasant at all.

Wen Qing lao shi managed to share a simple gospel with my ah gong. we wanted to sing 主耶稣知我心but he decline, saying he dunno how to listen. to me i find it an excuse maybe he's awkward or felt stress that we are forcing him to believe?

Nevertheless, I'm glad we also managed to share the gospel with my ah ma and i almost burst into tears when my ah ma said no one ever shared gospel with her before..oh dear, wat if i didn't decide to come for this trip and wat if when i want to share, everything is too late...never wait until it is too late brothers and sisters...

After that, we visited my 大舅母, who is selling prawn noodle nearby...recently she became a christian due to family matters which caused her to lose hope n i'm very happy that at least in msia there is a contact point in case my ah gong has doubts about his salvation...

we came out of johor ard 3 something and went to visit william's ah ma at orange valley elderly nursing home... his ah ma was in a better condition n praise the Lord she is already a believer! just that there is no church nearby where she can visit and also due to her illness she can't really walk much. We shared again to her y william gg cambodia for 1 yr to reassure ehr everything is alright n we are glad that we decide to visit her. didn't know she is so affected abt william's decision.

updates: my mum just called, to scold me. asking why i bring lao shis to johor. say that the gods that ah gong worship will clash with ours and affected ah gong. i felt like saying 'bull shit' to her. i really do. but at that point of time. God made me humble down. He spoke to me, chiding me..I do not need you to stand up for me. You have done things that are good in my eyes. The rest is all to Me my child.

as usual, after scolding, very angry with me, slam down the phone. so taking this opportunity, i sent my mum a long sms, to be exact 3 sms combined, because i know, by talkin on phone, both of us cannot talk coherently n in a clear state of mind, so there u go:

as it was summer season, n it's a season for tropical fruits.
who on earth will buy unripen starfruit?? can't they tell green is still unripe? yellow is the ripe one. hai. kena conned. i spent almost 1/2 hr to finish 1 slice.

while waiting for the fruits to be ready.. the guys played the new game, ghost buster.. i miss the good old days sitting in front of tv catching the weekly ghost buster episode..

Last sun was an evangelistic day for our church. so the kids got to hear some sharing from the chiang kam team.. and of cuz teach them the dance we taught the kids back in chiang kam.

The families are here! how our game goes: There are 5 stations. Each station comprises of 1 riddle, 1 task and 1 picture to unscramble..very simple..so the kids will b able to get involved=)

Sports day 2009!

You guys never know what i went thru when planning this combined sports day. i went thru an emotional reflux. Starting from enthusiasm, anxious, stress..disappointed and then excited again. like a roller coaster ride sia.
Enthusiam - it's supposed to b a combined church sports day. apparently, i was very last min organising this n plus it is a bad timing(may), thus the church i approached(mpcc) can't join us due to most of the youth having exams. At first the venue supposed to be NP but i guess Gwen n weili too busy so ended up no news regards to the booking of venue. I forgot who suggest James Cook n i tot y not?? moreover can invite the students to join us! a win-win situation=)

stress- 1 week before the actual day, james cook authority haven't reply our request. i started to panick. what if there is no venue n alot people did turn up? how am i supposed to answer to them? moreover james cook students can't join us cuz they having exam also. wat a date for outdoor activity. =(
Excited- I was very excited when i received sms on thursday? that james cook authority agreed to lend us their venue for sports day!! weee~~~

well from below photos u guys may think it was a bright n sunny saturday afternoon but u r wrong. 1 hr before i left home. i was experiencing thunderstorm. i almost had problem getting out of house. i started having panic attack again. what if the rain continues?? i did not have any wet weather activity!! horrible me..then i quickly set myself praying n set the rest of YF ppl praying also. And God is really faithful, by the time my bus reached 141, there is no sign of rain at all. i got so emotional that i almost cried. Lord u hear us, n u answer our prayer.

so enough of babbling, time to talk about the actual thing..below is qiqi n kairen, my street soccer empire..
the 2 jia xin ppl who joined us. so sorry abt mis com. sms qilei's old hp number so the rest of jia xin ppl were not informed abt this event. haiz..ivan u dun hate me for missing a soccer session ba hahaha.

started to brief the basic ground rules..

lim han brought his 3 basketball wannabes!! James, my fav kid joined us cuz he's so bored at 141 while waiting for his mum to finish her fellowship. seeing him so bored, i invited him to joined us, when he heard there will b basketball, his eyes lit up! so cute!

after starting not long, ppl complained they cannot differentiate their group members, so some one suggested the idea of tucking in. btw there's no such words as tucking in shirt. it's tucking shirt.

well, my feedback about this sports day is, if u guys happen to go down one day n play soccer let say, some other james cook students come watch, perhaps u guys can b friendly enough by pausing the game n asking them to join in. That's how we get to know new frens n bring them to know more about christ n have fellowship with us=)

confessions*sometimes i feel dat im dying..that im holding on to this ministry myself..is there anybody who care to share the workload with me..like start to lead so i can step down already? ever since shaomei seldom see her in church, weili is busy with CCA my 2 helpers are gone, i felt so handicapped. anyway enough fo my ranting...

2nd half of the post not relevant to sports day but it's about sunday school teacher retreat. it's my first time attending n i must said i had alot fun n insights in this ministry.
